the idea of one person to change the world

It is impossible for one person to change the world, but it is possible for the idea of one person to change the world. It sounds ridiculous with the notion that idea, which is abstract, seems to affect people more than an action. Looking back in history, the actions of the influential people like Albert Einstein, Adolf Hitler, Gandhi, Thomas Edison, or Bill Gate and Steve Job, for better or worse, their works can’t be achieved by themselves alone, there’s always other people follow and support them. But it is undeniable that their sole ideas have made changes to the world. Idea can change the world because it has no restriction, it leads to action, and it does never die.

Idea can go beyond any boundary. When action always has limitation, idea has not. There is no lines or rules to restrict ideas; regardless of place and time. idea can occur. Even a prisoner sitting in his cell might come up with a good idea to improve his condition or at least, to console himself. Not different from a billionaire sitting in a suite room who conceives a  new idea to invest in stock market. 

The eastern philosophy can reach to western mind, while the western notion influences the eastern world. It is not an object, but the idea that go forth, wrapping and bonding the wide world.

Idea generates actions. Even a reckless action come from some thought–like ignorance. Without idea, there will be no action. The idea of one person doesn’t simply lead to one action but it then can effect others’ lives, points of view and lead to countless of actions. Consequently, these actions together change the world. It generates endless chain-effects.

Idea doesn’t die. When the action ends, it’s finished, but the ideal concept is still. Sometimes idea comes up within different forms. It is developed, revised, reshaped, but on a basis of an idea, which postulated by one person. Idea is always there, somewhere waiting for a keen thinker to discover, pick it up , dust it off, and take it to action again. It will never extinct because idea had no real master or owner. Actually, no idea is original at all; It is not authentic. Idea is flexible, to be moulded and fit to any situation.

Thus when everything begins with an idea, think carefully before making an action. We cannot know that our words or our actions might change one’s life and world forever. Or that one day someone might pick up our ideas, the inaction one and put it into action, or simple inspires them to think of something else. One’s action can’t change the world, but one’s idea does.

Most of all, one should be bare in mind that the idea has to be known in some way; otherwise it might die along oneself. If you can’t make it yourself, at least speak it out, write it down, let it be heard and seen. For one day, someone will continue your unfinished work. And it won’t be useless. And it is the way that one person…can change the whole world.
